Life Legacy

Jerome T. Heckenkamp, age 36, of Pewaukee, WI, JeromeHpassed away peacefully Tuesday, March 8, 2016 in his home after battling complicated chronic health issues. He was born in Taree, NSW, Australia on October 28 1979 to Thomas and Tracey Heckenkamp.

A homeschooled student, Jerome taught himself algebra at age 8 and went on to graduate from the University of Wisconsin Madison at age 18 with a Bachelor of Science degree in both Mathematics and Computer Science. Two years later, he received a Masters Degree in Computer Science from UW Madison. He had a passion for all things computer-related and worked at Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico before moving to California.

In 2008 he returned to Pewaukee, where he worked as a successful programmer and network engineer, developing cutting-edge software. Jerome was also an enthusiastic skateboarder and snowboarder. Despite experiencing many trials in his relatively short lifetime, he always handled hardships without complaint. Jerome was a devout Catholic and a loving son, brother, and uncle; he left an impression on all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.

Jerome is survived by his parents Thomas and Tracey; sisters Therese (Joe) Popp, Monica (Chris) Eckert, and Cassandra (Ray) Czech; nieces Genevieve and June; and nephews Martin, Spencer, Isaac, and Henry.

Visitation is Tuesday, March 15 at the Funeral Home from 4 PM until the Rosary at 7 PM. Additional visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 16 at St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1025 S 11th St, Milwaukee, WI 53204 from 9 AM until the Funeral Requiem Mass at 10AM. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Milwaukee.
